Early mornin' moon - swingin' low,
Sunshine streamin' in through my door,
Early hours - just bloomin' flowers,
Really - a crazy new world;
Eyes shinin' at the starry side,
In the evenin' of the magic tide,
Early hours - bringin' my baby to me.

(1.) Oh, captain, captain, captain,
I mean you really must be cross;
Oh, captain, captain, captain,
I mean you must really be cross;
Cause it’s twelve o’clock now, daddy,
And you won’t knock off.
(2.) Oh, captain, captain, captain,
I say you really must be blind;
Oh, captain, captain, captain,
I say you really must be blind;
You keep on hurryin’,
And I keep tyin’ that line;
(3.) Oh, captain, captain, captain,
You know the mornin’ won’t be long;
Oh, captain, captain, captain,
You know the mornin’ won’t be long;
You’ll be callin’ for me, Daddy, but I’ll be gone.

When the wagon starts,
Put the tailgate down;
Watch the band parade,
In and out of town;
Give the trombone man,
Room to move his slide;
And we’ll sing and play,
‘Round the countryside;
Wasn’t long ago,
I was in my teens;
And we played that way,
Down in New Orleans;
When the wagon starts,
Put the tailgate down;
Watch the band parade,
In and out of town.

If I had wings,
Just like Noah’s Dove,
I’d fly across the river,
To the one I love;
Well, fare thee well, my honey – fare thee well.
I woke up this mornin’,
It was drizzlin’ rain,
‘Round my heart,
Oh, Lord, felt this achin’ pain;
Fare thee well, my honey – fare-thee-well.
Well, one of these mornin’s,
And it won’t be long,
You’ll want my lovin’,
Honey baby, I’ll be gone;
Well, fare thee well, my honey – fare thee well.
I had a gal,
She was long and tall,
She moves her body,
Lord, just like a cannonball;
Well fare thee well, my honey – fare thee well.
Well, one of these mornin’s,
And it won’t be long,
You’ll knock on my window,
But baby, I’ll be gone;
Well, fare thee well, my honey – fare thee well.

Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa, men have named you,
You're so like the lady with the mystic smile;
Is it only 'cause you're lonely they have blamed you?
For that Mona Lisa strangeness in your smile?
Do you smile to tempt a lover, Mona Lisa?
Or is this your way to hide a broken heart?
Many dreams have been brought to your doorstep,
They just lie there, and they die there,
Are you warm? Are you real, Mona Lisa?
Or just a cold and lonely, lovely work of art?

Only you - can make all this world seem right,
Only you can make the darkness bright;
Only you - and you alone,
Can thrill me like you do,
And fill my heart with love - for only you;
Only you - can make all this change in me,
For it's true - you are my destiny,
When you hold my hand,
I understand the magic that you do;
You're my dream come true,
My one and only you.

Well, my bucket’s got a hole in it,
Bucket’s got a hole in it,
Well, my bucket’s got a hole in it,
Can’t buy no beer;
Well, my bucket’s got a hole in it,
Well, my bucket’s got a hole in it,
Well, my bucket’s got a hole in it,
Can’t buy no beer.
I was standin’ on the corner,
Down at 18th and Vine,
Shoutin’ out to the people,
“Why don’t you give me a dime?”
‘Cause the bucket’s got a hole in it,
Well, the bucket’s got a hole in it,
Well, the bucket’s got a hole in it,
Can’t buy no beer.
Well, my bucket’s got a hole in it,
Hole in it, hole in it, hole in it,
Hole in it, hole in it,
Yeah, yeah, yeah;
Hole in it, hole in it, hole in it,
Hole in it, hole in it,
Yeah -- yeah.
Got a shot of that old rotgut,
Got a shot of that old rye,
Dealin’ moonshine in the daytime,
And dope at night;
‘Cause the bucket’s got a hole in it,
Well, the bucket’s got a hole in it,
Well, the bucket’s got a hole in it,
Can’t buy no beer.
